baby things

Today has been a nice relaxing day.
Hubs and I woke up a little earlier than normal, so he ran and got us breakfast while I caught up on my blog readings.
After breakfast I spent about 3 hours looking at baby things online.
I added quite a few things to our registry :)
Surfing the net is so draining, so a nap was next.
I just woke up about an hour ago, showered, and fixed some lunch..now it's back to looking at all the cute little baby things.
OH! I moved my 4d appointment up to the 19th..meaning we only have 20 days till we find out what we're having!
I cannot wait. :D
I'll leave you with some pics of things I found and want for baby!

to me, this makes sense more than the usual changing tables. It seems like it would be way easier with the baby facing you already.

I have loved this whale tub since the first time we went shopping for baby.
If it's a girl..THIS is her bedding. Paired with some plain color sheets. LOVE.

yes please. I babysat a little girl who had this highchair. I liked it.

boy or girl??

We find out the gender of our bebe JANUARY 27th!!!!!

We officially have a boy and girl name picked out.
Not telling till we know the gender though. ;)

life lately and 12 weeks!

I haven't posted in a while..I have really just been reading everyone else's blogs waiting to have something to blog about myself. lol
We are kinda at a stand-still in life (besides the bun I'm cooking!) Hubs got a really well paying job..but it was also one that was 12 + hours a day and after 2 weeks it was already wearing us both down. We are basically still newlyweds and I couldn't stand so much time apart. I hated it. I struggled with being supportive when he was gone for so long every day. I felt like I wasn't even married anymore. The only time we had together was when he got home sometime after midnight and climbed in bed.
Another reason he went and ahead and quit was the long awaited call from an oil drilling company. This is the job he had done training for back when he was still in the Marines.  He had already done one interview with them and they wanted to fly him out for a second interview..Well he got that call last Friday and was told he would be called with the travel arrangements soon. We are still praying and waiting for that call. I also had an interview a few days ago for a job in a pharmacy that would lead to be being a pharmacy tech within a few months. I'm waiting to hear back from that company as well. We are still living with my Dad...and as much as I love being here and getting to spend time with him, I am really wanting our own place. If Hubs gets the job we will be moving out of state and if he doesn't, he will have to start looking again around here and we'll either start building like we originally planned or something. I'm just ready to know some answers and to settle down...esp before baby gets here. I have a nursery to put together! lol

All of that aside, I am 12 weeks today! Slowly saying goodbye to Tri 1 and saying hello to tri 2! I feel like we just found out a couple of weeks ago..but we found out when I was 3 weeks!...so it's been quite a while! It's flying by. I only have 28 weeks or so left. crazy. Instead of doing the survey, I'm just gonna write about what's changed..which isn't much. I haven't been getting sick as much, but there are many smells that can make me sick on the spot. I've been sleeping like a baby and slowly getting my energy back. I'm definitely growing in the tummy area. Shirts are a little snug down there. I still feel like it looks more like fat than baby bump, but I know in a few weeks it will be obvious I'm not just chubby. :) We haven't bought anything new really. Getting neutral stuff got old, so now we are waiting till we find out if "it" is a he or she before we go crazy and buy tons of stuff. We did make our first trip to babys r us. I can't wait to register! It's gonna be fun.
I  might post a pic later if I ever get up and get showered and dressed. It's a blah and rainy outside today so I'm not sure how high the chances for that are..Happy weekend everyone!

I can't believe it is already time to start the holidays again!
It really sucks that food and I are NOT getting along, cuz I LOVE thanksgiving food.

week 8 & some news.

How far along?:  8 weeks 2 days
Total weight gain/loss: -10 lbs. yes minus...I have been sooo sick.
The Bump: my stomach is getting firmer.
What I’m excited about/looking forward to:  finding out the gender!
Maternity Clothes: nope, back in my reg jeans...they are uncomfortable when I sit though.
Symptoms:  nausea/gag reflex is very touchy/ lots of throwing up. heightened sense of smell. extremely sleepy..like sleep 12 hours a night and still being exhausted after being awake for 2 hours..It is uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach already.
Belly Button in or out?:  In.
Food Cravings/Aversions: cravings: fruit, cheetos, TOMATOES, mexican
aversions: chicken, bananas, chicken, milk, chicken, oh and did I mention chicken?
What I miss: I've had a weird craving for margaritas...so alcohol? lol That sounds so bad..
Milestones: The excitement, nervousness, and freaking out phases have passed, so now time is going by faster cuz I'm not constantly thinking about being pregnant...which is nice because I'm SO impatient.

No bump to take a pic of yet. Maybe in a few weeks. :)
I DO have some other news though.
I have a little habit of getting excited about something, posting about it, and then plans change...that's kinda why I'm been MIA lately..cuz I'm waiting for a final "yes" for these plans....
BUT I'm like 90% sure this is happening, so I might as well share.
We are building our first home.
Plans are being drawn up and we should be going to the bank to talk details this week.
I can't even begin to explain how excited I am about this.
My dream has ALWAYS been to have ONE home that my children grow up in.
The one place where they feel safe, secure, and comfortable.
I cannot wait to make our home together.

doc appointment 2

Yesterday was our second doc appointment and ultrasound!
I finally feel like I believe all of this is happening for real.
The first time we went to the doc (2 weeks ago) there wasn't much to see on the ultrasound except for the area where my uterine wall was thicker...
but YESTERDAY we saw a baby.
Well, it doesn't look like a baby yet, of course..lol
The little heart was flickering on the screen and the lady told us we probably wouldn't be able to hear anything, but she turned the sound on anyway...and we did.
It was one loud, strong heartbeat.
I didn't get emotional like I thought I would.
I just in awe cuz I thought it was so cool!
Baby was measuring 6 weeks 5 days.
That makes my official due date June 29, 2011.

Since there was strong cardiovascular activity, my hormone levels were perfectly on the spot, and all my blood work was normal, she went ahead and gave the ok for me to see the Doula that works in the office.
She was extremely helpful and also very funny.
Logan & I would exchange grins every time she would bring up something that "will probably happen" because it already has.
She told him I would probably cry and not know why...
that was the reason I tested in the first place!..and it may have happened the night before we went to the doc as well...lol
She also told him I will get mad over the most ridiculous things, but I seriously cannot help it.
yep, I have.
Now, I don't use being pregnant to just be a bitch, but sometimes I just don't feel like I can control my emotions anymore.
Stupid hormones.

It had been a long 2 weeks in between our first, somewhat disappointing appointment, and yesterday.
I feel like we left yesterday feeling like we were on cloud 9 and we feel so much better about things.
There actually IS something in there! lol

rainy days

Today has been one of those gloomy, rainy days.
Literally & not so literally as well.
Nausea has set in.
I wake up and stay sick from morning till supper time..
then I'm starving.
NOTHING sounds good food-wise besides sour candy, pickle or salt and vinegar chips, and sprite.
I absolutely cannot hold down sweets.
I know my body is doing lots of work and changing to make a baby, so I can't complain too much. ;)
So to get my mind off of the yucky, here's a few things I'm looking forward to!
-my second ultrasound is Wednesday!
Hopefully we'll get an actual due date since baby was too small to measure last time.
-spending the day with my momma tomorrow. :)
-it's finally getting colder so I can wear my ugg boots again!
-Thanksgiving (of course)
I hope I'm able to eat all my faves by then..

potato soup

I saw this recipe on 17 Inch Heart and really wanna try it. I was just telling Hubs earlier today how I wanted some potato soup. yuuuummmm

Loaded Potato Soup
recipe slightly adapted from handle the heat
4 potatoes
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 1/4 cups chicken broth
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 ish teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoons ish pepper
3 slices of bacon
1/3 cup shredded cheese
4 teaspoons thinly sliced green onions

1. Pierce potatoes with a fork. Microwave on high 13 minutes or until tender. Cut in half; cool slightly.
2. While potatoes cook, heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion; sauté 3 minutes. Add broth. Combine flour and 1/2 cup milk in measuring cup; add to pan then add the remaining 1 1/2 cups milk. Bring to a boil; stir often, being careful to not let the milk boil over. Cook 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in sour cream, salt, and pepper.
3. Arrange bacon on a paper towel on a microwave-safe plate. Cover with a paper towel; microwave on high for 4 minutes. Crumble bacon.
4. Scoop potato into soup and discard potato skins. Coarsely mash potatoes into soup using a potato masher. Ladle soup into four bowls and top with cheese, green onions, and bacon. (I like my potato soup to have chunks, so I didn't mash all of them - only about 1/3 - that way I still got those chunks! mmmm)

It's November 1st!

Happy Birthday to meeeee! (:

yep! Today is my 21st birthday!!! :D
What's on the agenda??
Well, not your typical 21st, since I have little one on the way. hehe
nope, today's plans consist of:
a pedicure
lunch with my sis and aunt
probably a nap thrown in there somewhere (since I can't make it all day without one anymore!) lol
& then tonight
I have a date to Birmingham for dinner and some shopping with my adorable Hubby :)
I see this being one of my favorite birthday so far.

Happy November 1st!!!!

happy halloween (:

I've never been into Halloween.
It MIGHT have something to do with the fact that my birthday is the day after?
yep-tomorrow!
This year is a big one!
I'm 21!
I have been looking forward to this one for years...& now I have a little "situation" lol
I wouldn't trade my bebe for anything though, my 21st birthday celebration can wait another year.
I'm sure I'll get carded till I'm like 40 anyway. ;)
This is probably one of the last Halloweens I can ignore though...
I know I'll be out trick-or-treating with my munchkin in a few years.
(idk about next year..he/she will only be a few months old) lol
but anyways..those celebrating Halloween this year, have fun and be safe!

There are only TWO more days until my first official appointment!

I am so ready to know my due date!
I have no clue how far a long I am...
All I know is my pants are not buttoning already. haha

We might not know the due date, but that hasn't stopped us from buying some things for our bebe. :)
(That is a for a whole other post!)
Yesterday was spent shopping mostly, then we babysat my little cousin..she's about a year old I think.
She is such a cutie!

And just for fun...

The Bump: not yet
What I’m excited about/looking forward to:  Wed! Finding out the due date and seeing our baby for the first time. :)

the details

Earlier I posted our big news...
so now for the details. :)

ok...so first off, this is my blog, my journal, so there will be details throughout this whole journey.
 Just sayin. lol
sorry if its tmi or whatever.

So let's rewind back to last week.
I had made my mind up that I was gonna join the Air Force.
I was watching all sorts of videos and reading tons of blogs about other women's experience at Basic Training, which was the one part I was nervous about.
Yeah...Sunday night, I had a little crying fit.
It started from me being bitchy (but not seeing that I was the one being that way) and then getting upset when Hubs was "talking to me mean" lol
Then I kinda started to calm down from that, we apologized to each other, then I picked up Luna and started crying all over again about how "she isn't going to remember me when I get back from Boot Camp.
I finally calmed down, took a long shower, and we left and got something to eat and made a trip to Walmart.
I simply said "maybe I should get a pregnancy test to make sure before I go take the ASVAB thursay"
Didn't think much about it since I have taken plenty of tests since my cycles are so messed up.
Got home, took the test, set it to the side, and got on facebook on my phone...
I glanced over at the test and thought I saw something, but thought "It's probably just that white line that I've gotten on those tests before" and carried on with facebooking.
Glanced at it again a few minutes later........
picked it up.
FREAKED OUT.
I immediately started shaking and saying "omg omg"
I ran downstairs and just looked at Hubs and he knew what I meant, but I don't think he believed me.
I followed him upstairs and he just stared at the pee stick and couldn't get the grin off of his face.
I dipped the second stick and we watched it the whole time.
Logan was like "I don't see a line on thi...oh there it is" haha
So from there we have had fun telling our families.
We had a celebratory dinner at Outback last night ;)

We don't know the E.D.D yet cuz I have wacky cycles.
I should know by next week though!
Our families are extremely excited.
It's gonna be one spoiled little thing. (:

Hubs and I went to a movie and while we were at the mall we looked at some baby stuff..
and of course we didn't leave without making our "first purchase". :)
It is a little lime green stripped onesie thing with legs, long sleeves, and little feet and it has a frog on the butt.
It's terry cloth material, so I'm thinking it will be used for after bath time. too cute. (:

As for symptoms so far?
(besides being an emotional wreck that is)
The only things I've noticed are:
REALLY sore boobs
& not really wanting to eat my normal favorite things
I don't really get hungry all day then at night I'm starving.
I've had headaches the past two nights from cutting out caffeine.

I'm so excited!!!
I saw this on one of my favorite blogs a while back, but I just freaking love it, so I'm gonna quote it.

"A lot of change is happening.

A lot of change is coming.
But a lot of love is present, and I think we'll do just fine."

change of plans

Remember that post about me joining the Air Force?
Yeah..it's been deleted..why?
because I have been disqualified...

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!

kidney stones, toes shoes, & insanity

Hi! :)
It's been a while...
I've been extremely busy between hospital trips with my sis having a really bad kidney stone, finding Zoey(one of our furbabies) who went missing for two weeks, & everything else in between.

I feel sooo bad for my sis. If you don't mind, please say a little prayer for her. She has been in so much pain for about a week and half now. We made two trips to the emergency room, a trip to a specialist, two trips to the hospital for blood work and surgery, and she is still in pain. When they went in for her surgery, the stone had already passed, but her tube was so stressed and clenched, they had to put a stint (sp?) in to open it up and give it some relief. It has been so hard to see her in that kind of pain. :(

Zoey being MIA was also very hard..I didn't realize how much I love her until the past 2 weeks when I couldn't hold her or kiss her little face. My cousin is a freshmen at a college nearby and was talking to me about wanting a dog, so I came up with a brilliant terrible idea to let him have a "test run" of taking care of a dog while being in school and working. I thought it was a good idea..he would be able to see how he could handle it and she would be back home within a few days...WELL while my cousin was at work one night (the day after he got her from us) his roommate opened the door to let someone in and Zoey took off and hid...I don't know how hard he looked for her or whatever, all I know is she was missing for two weeks. We had her posted on every animal shelter within a 100 miles radius and all the vets were aware she was missing and were watching for her to be brought in. We finally got a call yesterday saying she had been found and was 2 hours away at the girl's moms...so we took off and picked our baby up. We are extremely happy/relieved/blessed to have her back home. I am so thankful for everyone that helped us in the search for her.

What else have I been doing? Well...
I finally caved and bought some of the Vibram 5 finger shoes. Love them...BUT I made the mistake of running 5 miles in them the day I got them..lol the first 2 miles or so were fabulous, then my feet and legs started killing me. When I got home and read into it (should've done this to begin with) I learned you are supposed to start out slow and let your feet and legs adjust to them because they work out places that don't get worked out when wearing regular running shoes. oops. So now I know and will be taking it a little slower...here are the ones I got.

As for my "healthy eating"? I feel like I'm about half and half. I have been making some good choices and some bad ones too. This weekend we have been on the go non stop so we have ate out a good bit, but all last week we had meals at home. I am IN LOVE with the protein shake I've been making. All I do is put 8 ounces of fat free milk, 1 rounded scoop of chocolate protein powder, and a spoon full of peanut butter into a blender cup (the ones with the little metal ball thing) and shake it really well..there are still little chunks of peanut butter and it is SOOO yummy. One day last week I paired it with a salad topped with some buffalo chicken and a tiny bit of ranch.

I bought insanity. the workout program. I'm gonna start in the morning and do the fit test. I have never completed a workout program. I'm determined to finish all 60 days. I have the workout calender hung up on my cork board and I'm gonna be hangin up my before pic along with my motivational pics and my measurements and everything so I can keep up with my progress. I'm still going to be running. I'm slowly starting to like running again. Along with the fit test I'm gonna be running 2 miles. I feel so much better just from the little changes I've made since we've moved home.

I hope you all have a really good week!
I'm looking forward to tomorrow..even though its Monday, cuz that means episode 2 of Terra Nova and the new season of House! :D
