Death Valley

Yesterday we loaded up the bike and drove 5 hours to see Death Valley. We had plans to camp out there and come home today...but once we got there, saw the sites, and got some food, we were just ready to come  home. YEEEAHHH...bad idea. Once we got out of the valley and back on the road home it got REALLY cold and windy...but we had fun anyway. Here are some pics I took while riding. :)

We stopped at a little hole in the wall place for some lunch and they served their drinks in mason jars. LOVE IT! :)

I am an Introvert

I saw this at hecallsmewifey and thought I'd repost it. I am definitely an introvert. Every personality test I've taken says so and I feel like I come close to having social anxiety even.

Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk.
This is not true. Introverts just don’t talk unless they have something to say. They hate small talk. Get an introvert talking about something they are interested in, and they won’t shut up for days.

Myth #2 – Introverts are shy.
Shyness has nothing to do with being an Introvert. Introverts are not necessarily afraid of people. What they need is a reason to interact. They don’t interact for the sake of interacting. If you want to talk to an Introvert, just start talking. Don’t worry about being polite.

Myth #3 – Introverts are rude.
Introverts often don’t see a reason for beating around the bush with social pleasantries. They want everyone to just be real and honest. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable in most settings, so Introverts can feel a lot of pressure to fit in, which they find exhausting.

Myth #4 – Introverts don’t like people.
On the contrary, Introverts intensely value the few friends they have. They can count their close friends on one hand. If you are lucky enough for an introvert to consider you a friend, you probably have a loyal ally for life. Once you have earned their respect as being a person of substance, you’re in.

Myth #5 – Introverts don’t like to go out in public.
Nonsense. Introverts just don’t like to go out in public FOR AS LONG. They also like to avoid the complications that are involved in public activities. They take in data and experiences very quickly, and as a result, don’t need to be there for long to “get it.” They’re ready to go home, recharge, and process it all. In fact, recharging is absolutely crucial for Introverts.

Myth #6 – Introverts always want to be alone.
Introverts are perfectly comfortable with their own thoughts. They think a lot. They daydream. They like to have problems to work on, puzzles to solve. But they can also get incredibly lonely if they don’t have anyone to share their discoveries with. They crave an authentic and sincere connection with ONE PERSON at a time.

Myth #7 – Introverts are weird.
Introverts are often individualists. They don’t follow the crowd. They’d prefer to be valued for their novel ways of living. They think for themselves and because of that, they often challenge the norm. They don’t make most decisions based on what is popular or trendy.

Myth #8 – Introverts are aloof nerds.
Introverts are people who primarily look inward, paying close attention to their thoughts and emotions. It’s not that they are incapable of paying attention to what is going on around them, it’s just that their inner world is much more stimulating and rewarding to them.

Myth #9 – Introverts don’t know how to relax and have fun.
Introverts typically relax at home or in nature, not in busy public places. Introverts are not thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies. If there is too much talking and noise going on, they shut down. Their brains are too sensitive to the neurotransmitter called Dopamine. Introverts and Extroverts have different dominant neuro-pathways. Just look it up.

Myth #10 – Introverts can fix themselves and become Extroverts.
A world without Introverts would be a world with few scientists, musicians, artists, poets, filmmakers, doctors, mathematicians, writers, and philosophers. That being said, there are still plenty of techniques an Extrovert can learn in order to interact with Introverts. (Yes, I reversed these two terms on purpose to show you how biased our society is.) Introverts cannot “fix themselves” and deserve respect for their natural temperament and contributions to the human race. In fact, one study (Silverman, 1986) showed that the percentage of Introverts increases with IQ.

you are what you eat

The post is gonna suck to type.
I am gonna be all out honest about something.
Something a lot of women don't like talking about. food & weight.
The reason I'm doing this is because I'm getting absolutely disgusted and sick with myself.

I have played sports my whole life..so as a reward, I looked like this.
mirror pic taken back in highschool haha
I weighed about 120.
my face was thin, my arms were toned, and my legs were too.
I looked and felt so much better than I do now.

I started gaining weight after I graduated.
Yes, I played volleyball in college, but I also had free reign to go get fast food for lunch everyday.
That, along with the meals we got for free after every game=one fat me.
Once volleyball ended I started gaining even more weight.
Then I moved to California, to the desert, and gained some more.
So here I am, at around 146 lbs.
My clothes fit tighter than I would like.
I know something has to change.
A few weeks ago I got all excited about losing weight and made a "challenge"..even posted about it.
Well that was shot to hell.
just sayin.
I KNOW what I need to do to lose weight.
What's the problem then?
MOTIVATION.
I make plans in my head every night to "go for a run" or "go to the pool aerobics class" TOMORROW..
then I wake up and plant my fat a on the couch and get caught up on the internet or in the tv.
My other problem: FOOD
I LOVE dr.pepper
and I love everything that make you fat lol
I don't exactly know what I'm going to do yet, but I do know a change is coming.
I only have a week until my trip and of course I'm not gonna NOT enjoy myself and have ice cream and chicfila. OH how I've missed chicfila.
I DO know that I will be swimming and walking on the beach, so I'll get a little start to getting active again.
When I return, IT'S ON.

At 12 1/2 weeks he ways a whopping 40 lbs.

My dad informed me I had a notice in the mail saying I owe $380 for my school books..
(Definitely forgot to send those back)
so yeah..quickly put those suckers in the mail.

Now I'm about to go for a run and when I get back I have some fun house chores to do. lol
AND I am thinking about going ahead and packing some of my stuff since there is only 10 days until I leave!

I hope everyones having a good week so far!

vegas weekend

Last weekend was kind of a downer.
We had plans to take the motorcycle on a long ride and go camping...
but plans changed when Hubs got really sick..
instead, we laid around, ate some soup, and watched movies.

This weekend was a much needed one.
I have missed my family so much..
So when I woke up Friday morning to a text from my dad saying he was flying to Las Vegas, I was THRILLED.
Poor Hubs had to drive to Vegas and back twice because of mandatory Saturday plans.
That man sure does love me. lol

So..Friday night we picked up my dad from the airport and headed to Outback on the strip.
We stuffed our faces and caught up.
After eating, Logan dropped us off at our hotel and had to drive back home only to sleep for an hour and then head out to a fishing tournament.
He drove back just in time on Sat night to pick us up from the Bellagio and take us to Buca Di Beppos. :)
Sunday my dad was at an internet seminar, so we slept in, ordered some breakfast to our room, took advantage of the huge jacuzzi tub.
We  went to the Harley dealership, met up with my dad for lunch, then hit the road to come home.

There are only 11 days till I go home for two weeks(aka. going to Destin)
That means this weekend is the last one before I head to Bama, so we plan on carrying out last weekend's plans.

I'm extremely excited to see everyone and be a beach bum, yet kinda bummed about it.
It will be two weeks without Logan and my fur babies. :(
Yes, we've been apart longer than that, but I guess he's just spoiled me lately.

While I'm gone I will not only be vacationing, but I will also be working on some internet things that should bring in some extra income...and who couldn't use that?
My dad isn't the only one who got some use out of the internet seminar.
I also plan on updating the blog layout. I'm finally getting some followers!
Thank you ladies for following! :)

i get to see my daddy!

I received one of the best text messages this morning.
my DAD is flying out to Vegas! Today! :D
I'm sooooo freaking excited to see him.
It's been 5 months.
I have never gone longer than like two weeks without seeing him.
 I miss him dearly.
So that's where Hubs and I will be this weekend.
Maybe we'll get to revisit where we got married in Jan.

have an awesome weekend ;)

Mini Getaway

Was I the only one going crazy when blogger was down?
I doubt it.
I'm SO excited that it's already the weekend. :D
Hubs and I have a little trip planned.
Leaving in the morning..
We're riding the cruiser and camping.

Should be lots of fun.
We hope to find some "good eatin" on our road trip.
I can't wait to spend some quality time with him, because this has been a long rough week and we haven't seen each other much.
I'll have pics when we return!

As for Sunday...DRIVE-IN!
Fast Five is playing.

Cinco De Mayo

hahahah so...I just typed out this long rant about an issue that's bothering me..then I deleted it because I realized it's so dumb and not even worth my time. I haven't done anything wrong and I'm just gonna let it go.
 I'm over it.
It's immature.
I woke up in a GREAT mood this morning and nothings gonna ruin it. k? [:
Especially once I get my dr. pepper and am heading to the pool with my friends!

monday me-day

First of all, HAPPY MAY!

secondly, hubs is on duty today, so that means he won't be home till tomorrow afternoon. So what are my plans for today?
hmm...well Logan isn't too fond of one of my favorite movies

so I think I'll pop that into the bluray player and cook some yummy dinner...and tonight. Maybe chicken alfredo with garlic bread?
OH! and can't forget two of my fav shows are on tonight.
Then later tonight I'll climb into bed with a HUGE book that I cannot wait to read again. I have been waiting until school is over to start it, and now IT'S OVER! WOOO! I have a feeling I'll be a book worm this summer. This is the book I'll be reading first. I read it a while back and I  it.

I hope everyone has a good week! :]
