daycare

Today was James' first day at daycare!
I checked in on him at 10ish and they said he's doing great minus getting cranky before nap time. I took advantage of having nothing to do today and came home and cleaned a little better than I can if James is here. I miss my baby boy, but momma needs a break! I'm about to go enjoy some lunch somewhere...by myself. and I will love it. lol Then I'll go racing to pick up my baby cuz I miss him like crazy. Next week I'll be at school when he goes to daycare. Looking forward to getting this semester started! Here is a pic of James and I this morning. I asked him if he wanted to go to Daycare and I swear he looked at me like "What??! daycare....are you crazy??" and then acted sad the rest of the morning. my poor booboo. :(

2 years

Today is our 2nd wedding anniversary.
This time two years ago we were waking up at the Bellagio and ordering room service.
We were so excited/ nervous that is was FINALLY happening.
We were going to be married in a few short hours.
I can't believe this means we are now in our third year of marriage.
The first year was challenging.
Learning how to share everything and live with someone.
I was across the country from everyone I knew except Hubby, so when we weren't getting along, I had no where to turn to.
We got through it and learned and I think we are better than we've ever been and I only see it getting better.
In our two years of marriage we have lived in 6 different homes.
This 6th one is ours though.
We are home owners. :)
We had our first baby boy that we are obsessed with.
I can't wait to see what this third year brings!

Here's some wedding pics

This was us the day we finally got to Cali. (where hubs was stationed at the time):)

look at these old pics of us! lol They were taken at my 16th bday.

Here is to many many many more years <3

our weekend.

It has been a good past few days.
Hubby has been off and we got to spend some time together.
We made a trip to PetSmart for some stuff for our fur babies and so James could see the fishies.
He is getting so big! He can sit in the buggy (a buggy is a shopping cart for you non southerners) now. Which is a back saver for momma. lol

We also ate lunch at Freddy's. Big boy sat in a high chair!

My husband has been insisting I carry a gun with me to protect our son and I.
He bought me a Sccy cpx2.
We have spots reserved in a concealed carry class in March.
It was filled up until then.
We went to the shooting range so I could practice shooting.
It was soo nerve racking at first.
Every time a gun went off I jumped and I got all nervous, but once I started shooting I relaxed and had fun.
It turns out the gun I got was too big for my hand, so it will be staying in my drawer at home and I'm getting a new one to carry.
The world is a scary place and I'd rather be prepared and able to protect my son if something were to happen.

The rest are just some morning photos :)

Headed to the eye doc to pick out some new glasses and get contacts! :D

the next few days

early morning photo session with my handson little man. :)
the camera on the front of the iphone sucks.

A target find. I have three cube box things that match this. Love them! and love adding little touches to our home.

So excited about the next few days! hubs is off starting tonight and we actually have plans for his off days since last time he was off James and I were sicky. Tomorrow we are going grocery shopping (yes that is a plan because I don't like going alone with James yet. lol) and I'm always excited to stock the house with food.

We also have plans to go to a shooting range. I'll be sure to get some pics of that. I love shooting! We signed up for a class in March to get our license to carry. You can never be too safe these days. Don't even get me started on this whole "gun control" thing. I completely agree with the "so if guns kill people, do spoons make people fat?" thing.

On Monday we are watching the football game with some friends. They are big Notre Dame fans so it should be fun. lol ROLL TIDE. I am getting some new glasses and finally getting contacts just in time for school.

I'm most excited about our anniversary dinner at The Melting Pot. :D Our anniversary is the 12th, but we are celebrating early since Hubs is off. I made his gift this year. Of course I got the idea off of Pinterest. We met in Alabama, lived in Cali, and now we are in Oklahoma. I almost did one for Vegas, since we got married there, but I'll do something else for that later.

I found the giftbag in the $1 bins at target. I found several other cute things there too. I will definitely not skip that section from now on!

6 month checkup

James had his 6 month doctors appointment today.
He weighed in at 19.8 lbs. and is 26 3/4 inches tall.
He took his shots like a champ.
He is growing up so fast.
Time please slow down. :(

We are both feeling much better today.
We made a quick trip to Target before heading home and got some new foods for James to try.
He had bananas with mixed berries for brunch and wasn't too sure about them. lol
I think next time I'll mix a little bit of it in oatmeal.
After he ate I put him in his crib and he only fussed for about 30 minutes then fell asleep. on his own.
we're getting somewhere! lol
next step is to move his crib to his room.
I am just not 100% comfortable with the idea yet. :(
We'll get there.

the new year.

New Years eve wasn't too exciting for us. Hubs had to go into work at mid night and James and I are still recovering from being sick the past few days. I wouldn't have traded snuggling with my baby boy for anything though. Just the way I wanted to ring in the new year. :)

There are certain people in our life that like to talk down to us because we are "young". By talking down to us, I mean they think they can give us advice, welcome or not on anything and everything. Specifically how to raise James. They think they know more or have the right I guess. I have made up my mind to not put up with it anymore. We may be young, but we are doing pretty damn good. Hubs has a well paying job, we have our own home, there is always food on the table, and our baby boy is one of the happiest, healthiest little one I've ever seen. I'm done with second guessing my decisions when it comes to our family. I'm done giving others opinions a second thought even. I've wasted too much energy worrying about what others think and what they have had to say. He is OUR child. This is OUR home. Please remember that. I'm not even sure that the people this is directed towards reads this blog, but regardless it was something I needed to get off my chest. I chose today to do so, seeing as how it's the first day of the new year. Here's to a new year of ridding ourselves of the negative. <3

Here's what I'm looking forward to this year:

James starts at his new childcare center this month 2 days a week while I'm at school. I am very at peace with our decision for him to start childcare. I don't think I would have been before now..but I'm ready for a few days a week to get out, even if it is for school. lol

I finally decided on a major and am starting all major classes this semester. I feel like I'm actually getting somewhere with school now. I hope to be done a year or so.

James turns one in June! We are trying to get a beach family trip put together for his bday. I hope everything works out!

I get to take James to the zoo and little kid part of the waterpark! I'm so excited to take him to experience new things.

Maybe getting pregnant again??

Finishing up decorating our house.
I cannot wait to do the yards in the spring!

turning 23! :O that sounds scary lol
