0 months

I know this is a little late, but I've decided I want to do the monthly updates. James will be 4 months in a few days, so I only have a few months to make up. :)

 2 days old

James was born on June 22 at 10:23 am
He weighed 7lbs 15 ounces & was 21 inches long.
He was born with lots of hair.
He wore newborn diapers for about the first 2 weeks.
He wore newborn size clothes.
My favorite things for him to wear were the long gowns..esp the one the hospital put him in.
I think it was cuz that was the first thing he wore.

I was dead set on not giving him a paci, but he was given one while being circumcised and after I saw how it soothed him, I couldn't take it away.

We have tried multiple kinds, but he has to have the one they gave at the hospital.
Luckily, you can buy them at walmart and they are also the kind they use for the wubba nubs.
I loved every single thing he did. I would just stare at him for hours amazed that my body made him.
He is absolutely perfect.

The whole time I was pregnant, I KNEW a baby was coming, but I had no idea what to expect.
The moment he was put on my chest was a moment I'll never forget.
I remember holding his head with one hand and touching his chest with the other.
His skin was so soft and he was so warm.
He was real.
He was an actual human being.
I was changed in that moment.
I had a purpose.
He was my responsibility.

The first day or two he was alive all he wanted to do was sleep.
He was not interesting in trying to eat at all.
We tried undressing him and messing with him to get him to wake up and eat, but he wasn't having it.
As soon as he was handed to me to try to feed him, he fell asleep again.
The third day he showed interest and the breast feeding journey started.
Not gonna lie..it sucked the first few days.
It hurt. I was tired. I got engorged. it hurt.
We fought through those rough few days and have been successfully since then and like I said, he'll be 4 months in a few days.
My original goal was 6th months, but after further research and thought, I am going to try to do it for longer.

It does nothing but benefit my baby, so why wouldn't i?
He has pretty much slept most of the night since day one.
I know..I'm lucky.
Our next kid will probably be terrible lol

updates: pic style

We finally got internet at our new house! I can't say I've missed tv or internet though. I got a lot more done! I've been cleaning and unpacking like a mad woman! Still have TONS to do to get our home where we want it to be, but we're getting there! For example..we finally have bedroom furniture! I absolutely love it. It couldn't be more "us".

oh and hubs surprised me with an early bday gift. (the tv!) for when he is on night shift or in the field.
I'm spoiled. I admit it. lol

I plan on doing something like this over our bed.

we are slowly transitioning James into his crib. I have loved co-sleeping, but I think it's time to make the change while we still can...cuz we can't have all of our kids sleeping with us one day. lol

now just enjoy some cuteness. :)

He adores his daddy...and I adore that. (:

I seriously cannot believe it is already October.
It is officially my favorite time of year.
Pumpkin spice lattes, cinnamon candles, fall colors, sweaters..you get the picture. ;)

First things first...
I posted about us buying a house...
well we are moving into it THIS WEEK! :D
I can't wait to make it OUR home.
I've been on pinterest like a crazy woman pinning things I HAVE to do for our house and the upcoming holidays.
We have our bedroom furniture picked out and I am sooo excited to finally have a 'put-together' bedroom.
My MIL bought me some really nice sheets that I look at every time I go to target.
They are going to look really good with the down comforter I plan on breakin out as soon as we move.
(oh the things I get excited about these days lol)
I'm also glad our new house has a big enough master bedroom so we can temporarily have James' crib in there with us so I can slowly transition James into sleeping in his bed..instead of ours.
Yes, we've been co-sleeping..and no I'm not ashamed.
My hubs worked night shift most of the weeks since James has been born, so it's been comforting to have my baby next to me..
It also made breast feeding easier since he was already right there beside me...
but I know it's time to start putting him in his bed..the longer I wait, the harder it will be.
I read somewhere to heat his crib sheets with a heating pad while I'm doing his nightly feeding and remove it before I place him in the crib..
This should help to keep him from waking up because of the temperature change from me to the cold sheets. We'll see how well that works. I'm praying it does.
Other than those things, I'm excited about organizing our life. lol
We never unpacked everything while we've been living at our current place.
It will be nice to see what all we have..I'm sure we will clean out a lot of stuff to.
We just got a Sam's membership and I found heavy duty shelves for our garage, so you better bet even the garage will be neat and organized.

First up after moving, Halloween.
I know this year won't be as fun as the years to follow.
Nothing more than some really cute pics of James in the 5 different halloween outfits his Nanna has bought him. lol
I plan on handing out candy at our new house though. :)

The day after Halloween I turn 22!
No idea why, but I am so excited about turning 22.
I just like that number better than 21.
and apparently hubs is secretly planning something. lol

Then of course there's Thanksgiving.
I want to attempt to make the whole meal this year.
and decorate our table.
hopefully it will turn out perfect.

and CHRISTMAS.
I absolutely am most excited about this.
There is a mantel to decorate, a tree to be bought and decked out, stockings to be hung, presents to be bought and wrapped, food to be cooked, and time to be spent with family.
It will be our first Christmas being the "adults" lol
I am really looking forward to making it special for our Children, well James & our fur babies, this year.
