wishing for winter

I'm usually the one who absolutely hates being cold...I have always said I'd rather sweat than be cold....well I am starting to change my mind. I'm getting pretty tired of the ridiculously hot temps lately. Anything over 100...is insane. I don't think it's just because I'm in the desert either..when I went home back in June...I could barely breath it was so humid. I don't know if I'll regret saying this once it's actually here, but I want winter here...now!
Just thinking about winter makes me excited. I'm excited for the Christmas gift shopping trips to Birmingham and filling up on some pumpkin spice lattes and lemon cake from starbucks, bundling up in my skinny jeans, sweat shirts, & uggs and going to class, cuddling up with Hubs and some hot chocolate by the fire, and our first holidays as a married couple. I'm so thankful we get to spend it with our family. :)

Thinking about winter, made my mind drift to winter clothes. Especially workout clothes..since Logan and I are going to be hitting the gym at 6am the Monday we get home (and the fact that I LIVE in comfy workout clothes). Here is what is on my Fall/Winter wishlist:

goin home :D

We FINALLY have made a decision. It's one I think we're both pretty happy with. I am thrilled...like sooo excited. We have decided that even if hubs gets a call last minute for a job, he's not taking it...and we're moving home to Alabama. We are going to be staying at my Dad's house. Not only do we get to be around our family, but his house also rocks and we'll have free rent...but I'm more excited about the being around them part. I am especially looking forward to being around my sister. It's her senior year and I'm so happy I'm goin to get to be there for it. Her 18th bday is a few days before we'll get there and we will finally get to go get our tattoos we have wanted for like two years. :) It's my bday present to her.

If you didn't already know..(I'm not sure I've mentioned it on here before) I work for my Dad. He does Internet Marketing along with a lot of other complicated stuff I don't quite understand...but I'm his office assistant. I like knowing I take a lot of stress off his shoulders by getting the little things done. While I've been living in Cali, I've been his virtual assistant, but now that we're moving home, I'll get to be set up in the office again. I like order..so I'm excited to get my little desk set up and organized lol

Anyway, the REASON we've decided this, is so we can both go back to school. There is a college literally 9 minutes away. (I've timed this many times, because I used to play vb there and had EARLY morning practices..lol) hubs is going to start classes for Veterinary Medicine..and I'm going to be finishing up my classes for Radiology!

We just made this official tonight, so I haven't even been able to tell my family (except my sis) that we're for real coming home...so I had to write about it..cuz I'm way to excited to sleep right now. I just keep thinking about all that I'm looking forward to that I've missed.

I can't wait to be surrounded by the green mountains and drive by the river everyday on my way home. I can't wait to take long runs through my old neighborhood, the one I know so well. I am so happy I can walk next door and visit my gran anytime I want...instead of just seeing her over skype. I finally get to meet my sister's new puppy and my whole family gets to meet our three new furbabies...everyone has met Luna. We'll get to order sweet tea anywhere..not just at McDonald's. lol  and omg, CHICKFILA. ♥ (can you say first meal as soon as we get back to the south??) oh and Jack's gravy and biscuit... We get to go to church with our grandmother's...like we haven't for a few years..and I can honestly say I'm excited about going back to school..After 8 months of sitting at home
while Logan's at work, I'm ready to get back into a schedule.

Yeah... as you can tell, I'm very happy about our decision. I can't wait to be home.
21 days.

I finally made a tumblr account. Not sure what I'm gonna use it for. Probably just random images and whatnot...but here's my link if you have tumblr!

Oh and I have twitter too. Haven't used it much either. I'm so behind on all this junk. lol

a pig & plans

first, I wanted to share this pic. I can't get over how freaking cute is is!

ok..now that's out of my system..lol

We are doing good on the whole getting ready to move thing..
we have almost sold everything we were trying to, minus a few big things that we're waiting about a week to try and sell.

Our plan is forever changing, but I think we're finally getting some things finalized.
As of now, we'll be moving out of our rented house Sept 7th (which is also Logan's birthday) and staying with Hub's best friend and wife for a week..then we will be leaving the desert for good on the 14th and staying with Logan's uncle in San Diego for a night so that he can spend a little time with him before we leave Cali.
THEN we will be on our way home.
we made reservations at some pet friendly hotels on our route home (:
(all of this is IF he doesn't get a call for a job between now and then)
Speaking of jobs, hubs and I applied at a few in our hometown for "just in case" and he already has been getting call backs! lucky. lol

update

Woah! Sorry I've been mia for about a week! I've been busy busy because we found out our official date that we will be leavin on. SEPT 14! :D SOOOO excited! We are now just waiting on Hubs to get a call about a job! If he doesn't get a call by then, that will be ok too, cuz that just means we'll get to go home and spend some time with our families! This week I've come down with a little cold and just have no felt that great at all..so I haven't done much exercise, but I have been eating better.
So, because we're moving soon, we decided to get rid of the excess stuff we have, so we won't have so much to move back across the country. Well in doing so, we've made over $500! Didn't expect anything like that.
but anyway, just wanted to update!

whatibought

today's post might be a little lengthy.
I wanted to show you what all I bought in preparation of starting Tone It Up.
I kinda followed the diet plan today, but since I was running around most of the day, I haven't eaten much.
the 7 day slim kick start will start in the morning, right after my booty call. (:

ok so here's what I got:
 1. bananas
2. strawberries
3. rasberries
4. blackberries
(for a mix-berry snack)
 6. celery (one of the "free foods" I can eat as much as I want, whenever.)
7. baby tomatoes (to go in my egg whites for breakfast)
8. baby spinach leaves(also to go in the egg whites)
9.spinach (what I'm using for my salads)
10. carrots (for snacks, salads)

11. WATER
12. lots of chicken
13.egg beaters
14. ground turkey

 15. naked fruit/veggie drinks.LOVE THESE.
(I drank halve of the berry one for breakfast on the way home from grocery shopping.)
 16. clear cups and straws for my Meta-D drink.
& ziploc containers so I can premake my salads

 18. Larabars (for snack)
19.all nature, no sugar added apple juice (part of my meta-d drink)
20. ground cinnamon and cyan pepper (also for the drink)
21. truvia (stevia, better sweeter than splenda, etc.)
23. apple cider vinegar (also for the drink)

 23. green tea
24.all natural peanut butter (goes great on the celery)
25. organic, extra virgin, olive oil (for cooking)
26. Mr. Dash and sea salt
27. brown rice
28.basalmic vinegar (my salad dressing)
29. one a day gummy multi vitamins :)

30. a planner to plan out my workouts and have my meal and workout plans all in one place
31.exercise ball
32.a mat. (for hardwood floors)
33. soft measuring tape (to take measurements and keep up with progress)
34. weights. I bought 5 & 8 lbs today. I already had 3lbs. It will be a while before I use the 8s. lol

so there is what all I bought today. when I got home I cooked up enough chicken for at least have of the week and premade a few salads.
Now that I have everything...LET'S DO THIS!

foooood

I finally get to go grocery shopping tomorrow!
This means I get to start the 7day slim down! :D
I am also gonna pick up a stability ball, a soft measuring tape, and 8lb weights.
I'll post about all the goods I'm getting when I get home tomorrow.
Gonna hit the sheets so I can get in my booty call run before I go shopping in the morning.
night ya'll

ABSolutely

I really like this. Just Do It. then do it again. :)

Today I did cardio for 30 mins.
I actually ran a lot more than I did before.
I'm proud of my small improvement.
Tomorrow I will improve some more. (:
For breakfast  I ate some egg whites with a tiny bit of cheese, and some baby tomatoes with a green apple.
Later I ate a peach.
Then I was really hungry and ate some ramen and a nutrigrain bar.
bad, I know...but we haven't been to the grocery store yet, so I had to improvise.
I was starving! lol
haven't had dinner yet, but I plan on cooking some fish and veggies.

I can feel the difference in being tired from working out and being tired from being lazy.
I like this tired.
I know I've done something to feel this way. lol
I also am just a little sore from the pushups.
My arms aren't sore at all...so I know I need to push a little harder on the arm workout.
I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep and working even harder tomorrow. :)
Here are is the inspirational pic for today!

gotta start somewhere

Exercise:
20 minute cardio
10 pushups (its a start!)
&
this arm toning video

Food:
(keep in mind that I haven't started the diet plan yet)
Breakfast- slim fast shake (chocolate)
Lunch-tomato sandwich on whole wheat, a few garlic and herb pretzel crackers, a cheese stick(not the fried kind, the kind you peel apart.lol)
Dinner- slim fast shake (chocolate)

I'm trying to get rid of all the food I have right now..which isn't much anyway, but I still want everything gone so that I won't be tempted to eat anything not on the plan I'll be going by.
I haven't officially started the diet plan yet. I DID however get my butt up and did the arm toning video and walked my Irish Wolfhound for 20 mins. That was about all we could take of the desert heat..over 100 degrees! I ate better than I normally do, but there is still SO much room for improvement. I am looking forward to getting groceries and starting the 7 day slim down for a kick start to the diet. Tomorrow morning will be my first booty call!
Just so you know, "booty call" is what they call your firstthingwhenyouwakeup cardio. :)
I weighed myself when I got back from walking and surprisingly the scale said 148.8
awesome!

tone it up

ok, so I'm super excited about what I'm about to tell you about.
You know, I've made several posts saying how I'm going to start working out and eating better.
Well I've finally found something I've been looking for and I cannot wait to get started.
The only reason I haven't started it yet is cuz I'm waiting till Sat to go get the groceries I need.
ok, here it is. I'm not sure which blog I found this link on, but thank you thank you thank you!
www.toneitup.com
I found a website with an awesome support community for losing weight and toning up. The two girls that own the site and program are constantly adding new workout videos and recipes. I purchased their program and immediately read all of it, decided that THIS is the time to make a change, and wrote out my plan and goals. I'm starting off with the 7day slim down...which is what the pic above is for. Its a kick start to get your body losing weight and ready for the next phase of their program. I will keep a food and exercise journal going on my blog on my TIU page. Their program is a little pricey at $149.99, but I took my time and read into it, and saw so many REAL women who have awesome results and I decided it would be worth it. Here is a link to a blog that followed their program. CHECK OUT HER ABS! AAH! I'm so ready to get started!

so im kinda sad... :(
You remember those two beauties from my last post?
Yeah...well...
Kora, our Irish Wolfhound, definitely did NOT like them...
and kept trying to eat them..
She would not relax once she knew they were in our house.
Not kidding.
In fear of the kittens' safety, we have to return them. :(
Not gonna lie...me and little female one were starting to become friends.
She was a sweetie.
Oh well..I guess we are meant to be doggie parents.
Fine with me!
Other than that, our weekend has been pretty low key.
Friday night we ordered some pizza, drank a little rum and coke, and watched a few movies.
Saturday we slept in (that is required on Saturdays) and then drove to the nearest sonic (20 mins!) for some ice cream and then went to the pet store that is near the sonic for some treats.
Gotta spoil our babies. :)
Today we've just been being lazy and spending some time together and with the pups.
We have also slowly been trying to sell almost everything.
We found out that we are 90% probably going to be leaving CA on Sept. 18th!
So we are getting rid of anything and everything that we don't want to take with us.
pretty much, the only things we want to take are our pups, clothes, kitchen stuff, tv, and Hubs bike.
that's it.
We wanna start new and get real furniture.
You know,
that matches and whatnot.
My dream furniture is the big chunky heavy wooden bedroom furniture.
with our bedroom painted a deep red, brown, purple (purple's so not gonna happen though).
aaahh! so can't wait!

Something I have been thinking about.
I have seen "shop my closet" on a couple of blogs and I think I might start doing that on here.
I'll let you know.

This weekend flew by.
hopefully this week will too!
also hoping hubs hears something about his future job so we can start house hunting!

2littlethings.

Oh how I love the weekend.
I get hubs all to myself and we don't have to go to bed early! lol
We don't have much planned this weekend.
Trying to save some moola for our move.
Anyway...I have two little fur babies to introduce to you today.

Mr. Bubbles (named by hubs)

and

Mrs. (insert cute name here)
I haven't named her yet. lol

I've never been a cat person...but something made me get these two.
Yes, we do have a lot of aminals..and we love them all. :)

Oh and random, but I've been readin.
I read East of Eden, by John Steinbeck. LOVED IT. sad I'm done with it. :(
Now I've moved on to this.
pic from google images

So far, very informative.
I highly recommend it if you are trying to conceive or just simply want to learn how your body works.
We aren't "trying" anymore.
We are "not trying but not preventing"

ok, that is all.
Have a lovely weekend!

ilovebreakfast

Good morning! (:
I just got back from my morning run/walk.
Thought I'd share a really good, healthy breakfast that hubs and I make regularly. enjoy!
Eggs with tomatoes and baby spinach & an English muffin.

What you'll need:
3 eggs
nonstick spray
shredded cheese
baby tomatoes
baby spinach leaves
1 english muffin
butter
jelly

This is just the way I do it. :)
-cut english muffin in half, place in toaster oven for around 5 mins. (while you cook the eggs)
-break 3 eggs into bowl and beat with fork
-cut about 10 baby tomatoes in half and tear a handful of baby spinach leaves (put to the side)
-spray a frying pan with Pam
-scramble eggs
-when eggs are almost done, add in a little shredded cheese, then tomatoes, and spinach
-take muffin out and put a tiny bit a butter and jelly on it.
I add a glass of orange juice. It make a pretty big, filling, healthy breakfast.

fresh start

As you can see, I have redone my whole blog..again. THIS time, though, it is me. The other times I was trying to make my blog all cutesy and junk...but this, this is more me. I love the color black. I love black and white photos. I like things to be simple. Everything you see was made/done by me. It took me all day, but it's done and I'm proud. If you want me to make something for you, just ask. :)

There are some pretty big changes coming for hubs and I. He gets out of the Marines in less than two months and we are still waiting to see where we will be moving to next. As soon as we find out though, we will have so much to do...and every day that passes just means there will be less time to do it. Once we find out where we'll be moving to we have to..

- find a house. (we have already been looking at houses in every possible location we could be going to) We have found some pretty freaking nice ones! Can't wait to to make a call saying "we'll take it!"
It will be our new home and our home for many years to come.
-figure out if we are taking the little furniture we DO have, or selling it and starting over. (Depends on location)
-depending on the decision above, may have to rent a uhaul trailer/truck.
-plan out route to get to new location
-find hotels that will allow 4 fur babies! or maybe stay in a town with a kennel :/
-pack!
-find a school (I'm going back to school for sure, hubs is going to try if job will allow)
-buy Hubs a truck  (he has a motorcycle)
-and all of the other things that you have to do when you move to a different state (new license, car tags, etc.)

Even though it's going to be pretty stressful, I think it's gonna be tons of fun as well. We are going to be closing the first little chapter and moving on the the next one. So excited to see what's next for us!

Oh! If you have a little extra open space on your blog, my button is over there to the right! ;)
